JLG Attachments - After retiring in the late 1960's, John L. Grove started out on a cross country RV trip. After spending numerous years establishing his family built crane business with his brother, John had no idea that this trip would give birth to the rise of JLG Industries, Inc. The world leader of mobile aerial work platforms and precision material handling technologies was the end consequence of a road expedition.

During their trip, John reacquainted himself with past business acquaintances along the way. In combination with these conversations and a noteworthy event; two workers were tragically electrocuted on scaffolding when the Groves were passing through the Hoover Dam. John uncovered a considerable market for a product that could quickly and securely elevate people in the air to accomplish maintenance and other construction services.

After returning from their trip, John set up a joint venture with two of his friends and purchased a metal fabrication company in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. Starting with a small crew of twenty workers, they fashioned and sold their first JLG aerial work platform in 1970. The business incorporates many of the simple design essentials of that original lift into current models.

Since then, JLG Forklifts have come a great distance from when Mr. John L. Grove returned from his fatefull cross-country trip and since the first JLG aerial platform entered the marketplace. As of today, the business has expanded itself into several international marketplaces and continues to develop contemporary machinery to guarantee that customers are able to become safer and more resourceful within their workplace.
